Open Air Chapel getting Fixed

The Open Air Chapel has been a major part of the Loucon experience since it was built in 1966. Almost 40 years have been good to our campers; however it has taken its toll on this outdoor worship area. The roof leaks, and there are some other issues related to that leakage. So, thanks to some loving campers, counselors, a dean, and a family Open Air will be getting just what it needs...lots of love and care! This summer campers, counselors, and the dean of Jr. High 2, Dan Smith, decided something needed to be done about this deterioration. They began to pull resources to repair this beloved building which is also where Dan and several others have accepted Christ into their heart! After getting a quote on the materials we were quite a long distance from reaching the necessary funds to fix Open Air. Then God led the Royster family to provide the rest. They gave the money for renovation in honor of Jane G. Royster's 60th birthday. Jane is such a wonderful example of how Christ intends for us to live and love others that this seemed like the perfect fit! Thank you to the Royster family and all those who have given to help get Open Air back into shape. The renovation will be completed before the summer of 2007!
